Toast provides Montclair-area diners with a new destination for quality food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Toast fills a local void by serving up breakfast, lunch and brunch staples with a twist.

Owner Amy Russo Harrigan greets customers with her big, infectious smile, and instantly makes them feel right at home in the beautiful space she’s created at Toast. With doors that open onto the street, rustic woodwork and ultra-comfortable brown leather banquettes, Toast is a place where both families and business people can come, have a great meal and feel relaxed.

Russo and her staff have created a varied, exciting menu that puts a new twist on some old favorites. Eggs benedict gets a make-over with a crab cake and a perfectly balanced hollandaise sauce. French toast made with egg bread is stuffed with delicately sweetened cream cheese and topped with sliced strawberries.

For lunch there’s a classic lobster roll tossed lightly in a lemon-mayo dressing and nestled in a split-top bun that saves you the seven-hour drive to Maine, and an authentic Philly cheese steak that will have purists and homesick Main Liners returning for a fix. A traditional Cobb salad is elevated by the addition of succulent lobster meat and Toast’s signature Dijon vinaigrette. And the crispy, perfectly seasoned shoestring sweet potato fries that accompany many dishes are already making Toast a destination on their own.
